URBAN FAIRY TALE

By Anna shook

Once upon a time there were 4 coke glasses that had been obtained by a collector at McDonalds. They were beautiful. Made of glass and clear colors of faint blue and brown. The collector enjoyed using them. One day the collector came home with a pizza hut glass. It was made of plastic and had both the pizza hut logo and the Pepsi logo on it. It was quite pretty in a clear plastic sort way.

The Pepsi glass was a couple of ounces more than the coke glasses so the collector started using it more than the coke glasses. The coke glasses started to feel slighted and began to talk among themselves of revenge. One night while the collector slept they surrounded the Pepsi glass and shoved it off the shelf. Being plastic it just bounced and landed on the floor. Come morning the collector picked it up, washed it and put his orange juice in it. The coke glasses fumed, the plan had not done away with the object of their envy.

Several days passed one night the coke glasses tried again this time pushing harder trying to clear the counted top. Again the Pepsi glass bounced and again the collector found it and used it for juice. The Coke glasses fumed, and envy turned to hate. Determined to get rid of the Pepsi glass they gave more thought of how to succeed.

One night after a party all the glasses were left on the counter over night. Suddenly in the dark of the night the collector was awaken by the sound of crashing glass. Turning on the light in the kitchen he found the coke glasses lying in pieces on the floor. Beside the Pepsi glass sat the family cat that was licking milk from the counter where it had spilt from a paper cup turned over in front of the Pepsi glass.

Moral: everyone has friends; so watch your back when you choose to envy and hate.
